Getting your field

Use /farm in a server and buy a field for 2,500 Mekos. You get a free seed pouch to get started. Your field belongs to the server you bought it in. You can open and tend it from any server, but structures and events only apply in your home server. Want to move? Empty every plot, then use /farm in the new server and pick Move here for 5,000 Mekos.

Planting seeds

Pick an empty plot and choose a seed pouch to plant. Each pouch plants one crop, and that crop grows the same on any field. You'll need a hoe to plant. Don't have one? Miki offers to buy a Basic Hoe and plant in one go. Stronger crops need a stronger hoe; see the Crops table below. Where seeds come from:

  • Expeditions. Every biome drops seed pouches for its own crops, so explore to collect them all.
  • Cooking. Cook 2 of any crop into its seed pouch with /craft cook.

Watering and keeping crops healthy

Crops grow in 1 to 3 stages, depending on how long they take. Water once per stage. Every missed watering costs your crop some health:

  • Pristine (never missed): +1 crop and better quality.
  • Healthy: a normal harvest.
  • Wilted: one crop fewer and lower quality.
  • Withered: you only get a Withered Crop.

Each watering uses 1 water. Get water from your well, from fishing, and from Tundra expeditions. With a watering can, Water all waters every plot that needs it for just 1 water.

Weeds and pests

Weeds and pests can show up when a crop enters a new stage. Clear them with Use Item before the stage ends, or the crop loses health.

  • Weeds: cleared with your hoe.
  • Pests: cleared with a Pest Repellent. Cook one from a Red Pepper and a water with /craft cook.

Fertilizer (Compost or Bone Meal) adds quality to a planting. You can use one per planting, once the current stage is watered. Cook Compost from 3 fish or 3 Withered Crops, or Bone Meal from 4 fish.

Harvesting

When a crop is ready, press Harvest. Three sprouts appear, and after a moment one of them turns into ripe 🌾 wheat. Pick it for a bountiful harvest with an extra crop and better quality. Picked the wrong one? You still get a normal harvest, so you never lose crops by missing it.

Growing your farm

Level up Farming and spend crops to grow your farm, one unlock at a time. Crop costs can be paid with crops of that rarity from any world.

You earn Farming XP by watering, clearing weeds and pests, and harvesting. Rarer crops and healthier harvests give more XP.

The Crystal Treant

Very rarely, harvesting wakes the Crystal Treant in your field's home server. While it's awake, every farm in that server is locked until the server beats it, or until it leaves after an hour. The Treant hides behind Crystal Seedlings that take its damage for it. Defeat the seedlings first. When they shatter, they hurt the Treant too. Watch out, though: seedlings explode on the party during their turn. Rewards include Crystallite Branches, Crystallite Tree Saplings and Raid Tokens, with a rare chance of a Crystallite Gem. Want a rematch? Cook a Crystallite Tree Sapling into a Crystal Tree seed pouch with /craft cook. It needs a hoe with 1000 Gathering, grows for 24 hours, gives Crystallite Branches, and always wakes the Treant when you harvest it.

Crops

Rarer crops need a hoe with more Gathering. Check your hoe with /tool info.

Rarity Hoe Gathering Crops (grow time)
Common Any hoe Mushroom (45m), Lettuce (1h), Cabbage (3.5h), Corn (4.5h), Red Pepper (5h), Potato (5.5h), Wheat (6h), Rice (7h), Sugar Cane (12h), Banana (14h)
Uncommon Any hoe Cucumber (2h), Carrot (3h), Tomato (4h), Onion (8h), Pumpkin (9h), Garlic (10h), Ghost Pepper (11h), Strawberry (13h), Pineapple (17h), Peach (20h), Avocado (21h), Cocoa Beans (23h)
Rare 250 Grapes (18h), Coffee Beans (22h), Vanilla (24h)
Rare 500 Watermelon (8.5h)
Ultra 1000 Golden Wheat (8h), Fire Lotus (12h), Dragonfruit (15h), Saffron (16h), Star Fruit (19h), Golden Apple (24h)

Crops that take longer give bigger harvests. A crop that grows for 18 hours or more gives twice as much as one under 18 hours. Companions and the Greenhouse can shorten these times. See the Companions guide and the Tools guide.
